About the role
The International Product Manager is closely cooperation with sales, R&D, Operational and Marketing teams to drive and promote business performance of assigned product line by managing existing product lifecycle and offering the new competitive product, which could fulfill customer requirements and market needs.
What you will do
Strategy & Business Planning:
- Support the team leader to develop tesa China product management strategy which is aligned with regional and global BU strategy
- Deeply understand the product marketing strategies, take strategic planning, development, coordination, and execution of the strategies for existing as well as new product groups
- Lead and take initiative to got Strategical alignment between the regional product portfolio with the overall global and regional BU strategy
- Act as key stakeholder to support the regional marketing team in the development of product strategies that utilize regional input on key customers, market insight, competitive landscape, and performance parameters that deliver value to our customers
- Be responsible for positioning and price setting of assortments as well as monitoring business development, business plan and market development
- Manage the product related data analysis regularly, including aftermarket volume/revenue analysis, product line data management, sales data record analysis and other product related data management
- Act as key stakeholder to working with all respective departments to develop and implement company-wide/regional go-to-market plan
Project Management:
- Build-up strong business acumen to understand the specific use cases in different end-user markets and translating them into requirements for tesa products
- Identify and evaluate the business cases individually, propose the projects based on the evaluation and analysis
- Coordinate and manage the project budget with/between regional marketing department as well as global business units
- Lead and manage the assigned projects with strong self-motivation and ownership, deliver qualified project results in time
- Lead the interdisciplinary project teams to turn new development project into commercialization activities
- Build-up and promote the sustainable sourcing and cost optimization mindset in project management
- Build-up the network with strong link to all relevant support functions (e.g. research & development, manufacturing plant, and customer solution center)
Product Management:
- Lead to manage the assigned product assortments strategically and operatively with global responsibility throughout various product groups
- Drive and take initiatives for product/assortment/portfolio developments based on strategic direction and market requirements which is in strong alignment with regional marketing and global IPM group
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by customer visits
- Identify the business opportunities and drive to achieve incremental growth by new product launches, product range extensions or brand extensions
- Closely work with regional marketing & sales team to drive ideation (new business cases) and communication concepts (product launches)
- As the expert for internal knowledge transfer – job holder accumulates extensive knowledge about adhesive tape market, technologies as well as competitive environment
- Act as point of first reference when it comes to product related inquiries which supported by regional marketing team for regional matters
- Monitor the global business development for the attributed product portfolio by executing performance reviews (sales, profitability, market development) and the initiation & implementation of controlling procedures
- Leveraging the global know-how and product development experience to optimize the China product lifecycle and portfolio management
- Support for product training and product marketing activity
- Other assigned tasks or projects
What you will need
Education Background:
- Bachelor degree or above in chemical, business administration, economics or similar, Master degree will be preferred
- Additional Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) will be preferred
Skills/Capabilities/Working Experience Requirement:
- Min 5 years working experience in product management or marketing relevant, chemical industry working experience will be preferred
- Excellent speech and structured presentation skills, capability to communicate, cooperate and influence across departments and regions
- Excellent skills in stakeholder management and cross-culture communication
- Excellent learning ability and agility, strong business acumen
- Strong data insight with good capability in data analysis and management
- Good problem solving skills, can identify the complex problems in area and present clearly, analyze the root reason with good analytical skills and business acumen, and can coach team members to solve the difficult and complex problems
- Highly self-motivating, open minded and diligent attitude
Languages, Certificates and Skills:
- Excellent English communication skill in written and oral, good sense for cross-culture communication
- German language is a plus
- Good project management skills, PMP/ACP certification will be a plus
Other Requirements:
- Business travel is needed, should be flexible to travel regularly
