In particular, it is not allowed to drill into tiles at all. If you now want to attach more towel rails, good advice is needed. You need the right tools for drilling, it is noisy and can damage the tiles. If you don't have your own drill, renting one can be expensive. Fixing the towel rail to the wall - the right preparation
For your towel rail to hold securely, the surface must be clean, dry and free of grease. Remove any adhesive residue and wipe over the surface with rubbing alcohol. Avoid commercial bathroom cleaners. These leave non-stick residues that destroy the adhesive effect.
Step by step to the towel rail in the bathroom

- Select the place where you want to attach your new towel rail.
- For the tesa® adhesive to stick to the tile, the surface must be free of dust, grease, limescale and other residues. Use a clean, soft cloth for basic cleaning. Please do not use any non-stick cleaning agents or cleaners containing silicone, as these substances impair the adhesive effect. After basic cleaning, clean with rubbing alcohol. If a cleaning cloth is included with your accessory, please use it.
- Take the adapter ring out of the package and remove the foil from the adhesive surface on the back.
- Place the adapter ring in the desired position and press it firmly against the tile.
- Now everything is ready and the tesa® Power.Kit technology can be used.
- Open the tube with the tube spanner and insert the opening into the larger hole in the adapter ring.
- Press the adhesive into the adapter with the spanner until some adhesive comes out on the smaller opening of the adapter.
- Now the back of the adapter is completely filled with glue and creates a secure connection with the tile surface.
- At this point you need patience. The adhesive must cure for twelve hours. Do not touch the adapter during this time and do not check the strength under any circumstances.
- After the waiting time, simply place your towel rail on the adapter and tighten the screw with an Allen key.
How to remove the towel rail without drilling
If you want to install the towel rail in a different place or take it with you when you move house, simply remove the adapter using a pipe wrench and a glass scraper - without leaving any residue and very easily. It can then be mounted again without any problems.
