... for Consumers
Since the time that the very first tesafilm® was made in 1936, the production process has been based on renewable raw materials. Today, the vast majority of our adhesives are made from natural rubber. Examples of trend-setting solutions in the office and do-it-yourself areas:

  • The tesa ecoLogo® product line fulfills the demanding norm ISO 14021 for ecological products by avoiding the use of solvents and using primarily bio-based materials and recycled packaging, among other characteristics.
  • The tesamoll® product line for insulating windows, doors, and radiators work to reduce heating energy consumption and CO2 emissions as well as prevent moisture and improve the indoor climate.

... for Industry and Trade
Introduced in 2010, tesa® ACXplus products for high-strength, permanent adhesive bonds (used in the automotive, electronics, wind and solar industries, the illuminated signs market, and construction, among other areas) stand out not only for their unique adhesive power, but for their environmental benefits as well: Compared to conventional processes, the production process for these products uses 50 percent less solvents and energy. This is possible due to tesa’s own state-of-the-art technology, which we developed with the benefit of a subsidy from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety. Other environmentally friendly products include solvent-free adhesive tapes based on natural rubber. Two examples:

  • The paper masking tape tesakrepp® 4341 for painting work and the tear-proof tesa® Strapping 51128 work to secure loaded palettes and protect sensitive surfaces.
  • The protective foil tesa® 50556, made from environmentally friendly PET material, provides masking for large plastic or chrome surfaces.

“Green” Products: A Win for Future Industries

tesa offers a wide range of products for the renewable energy industries

As a member of the German Solar Industry Association, we develop UV- and moisture-resistant product solutions for customers in the solar power industry. The high-performance and resilient adhesive tapes have been defying heat, storms, and rain for more than 20 years. We work together with the TÜV Rheinland in testing these abilities in accordance with the international standard IEC 61215. tesa solutions are used for such things as frame and socket adhesion as well as attaching cells and cables.

Wind power plant manufacturers are also relying more and more on tesa. Various adhesive tape solutions are used in such areas as rotor blade manufacturing, for example to provide durable protection for the leading edges using a particularly weather-proof film. tesa products with UV- and saltwater-resistant, non-slip coatings also make an important contribution to the safety of maintenance personnel on and in the gondola.

Quality: You Can Count on It

The tesa® brand represents reliability and high quality. Both private consumers and industrial customers have been able to rely on us for generations, thanks to intensive supervision of all production processes, painstaking testing of raw materials, and strict criteria for selecting suppliers. We rigorously supervise the entire innovation process and use internationally recognized quality management tools from the very beginning including the “Design of Experiments” (DoE) and the “Failure Mode and Effects Analysis” (FMEA). In the series production processes that follow, we employ Statistical Process Control (SPC) and the FMEA process, among other methods. We do not do any tests on animals in the development and production of our adhesive tapes.
