Can I use Adhesive Nails on ingrain wallpaper and plaster?
That’s why we’ve developed Adhesive Strips for Wallpaper & Plaster with a foam core and a less viscous adhesive, this results in a larger bonded area and it’s less likely to damage delicate surfaces when removed.
How do I prepare a surface before using an Adhesive Strip?
Use a silicone-free window cleaner, methylated spirit or isopropanol to clean the surface and allow to dry. Do not use regular detergents and they may render the adhesive ineffective.
Can I use regular Adhesive Strips on ingrain wallpaper?
No, we don’t recommend it – that’s why we’ve developed dedicated Adhesive Strips Wallpaper & Plaster with a foam core and a less viscous adhesive, this results in a larger bonded area and it’s less likely to damage delicate surfaces when removed.
Can I use Adhesive Hooks on ingrain wallpaper and plaster?
No, we don’t recommend it – that’s why we’ve developed Adhesive Strips for Wallpaper & Plaster with a foam core and a less viscous adhesive. This results in a larger adhesive surface and it’s less likely to damage sensitive surfaces when removed.
What surfaces are suitable for Adhesive Strips?
They work best on smooth, flat surfaces like glass, ceramics (tiles), wood and most plastics, and the Wallpaper & Plaster ones are great for many more sensitive surfaces (not suitable for vinyl wallpaper or non-stick surfaces e.g. silicon). Varnished and lacquer surfaces are usually fine, though if they’re porous it can be difficult to remove the strip without damaging the surface.
Why might I need the new tesa® Adhesive Strips for Wallpaper & Plaster?
Three reasons.
1 – The foam core helps overcome any unevenness of the surface.
2 – The adhesive is less viscous so you get a closer bond.
3 – It’s also softer, so there’s even less chance of damaging delicate surfaces when you come to remove it.
Can I use Adhesive Strips on in-grain wallpaper and plaster?
The surface needs to be sufficiently smooth and firm, otherwise the adhesive power is strongly reduced. We recommend using Adhesive Strips for Wallpaper & Plaster for such delicate surfaces.
