Understanding the Sustainability Shift in Packaging: Insights on Materials, Design, and Circularity
Sustainability requirements are redefining packaging design, with growing emphasis on circular economy models, efficient material use, and regulatory compliance. This talk explores current industry trends — including rising customer expectations, the PPWR’s impact, and the increasing relevance of monomaterial and recycling friendly packaging solutions. We examine how advances in adhesive materials, such as recycled PET backings, paper based designs, and more sustainable adhesive systems, contribute to improving recyclability and resource efficiency across packaging processes.
