Driving circular packaging through strong supplier collaboration
Sustainability
At tesa, circular packaging is a joint effort. By working closely with strategic suppliers, we actively close material loops and transform packaging from a single use necessity into a circular value stream.
A key example is our collaboration on plastic end walls used to secure log rolls during transport. Together with one of our strategic packaging suppliers, tesa established a closed loop solutions that enable both reuse and high quality recycling. For selected plastic packaging in Europe, used solid plastic packaging are collected, reprocessed, and exclusively remanufactured into new packaging components for tesa. In China, joint reuse systems with key customers allow end walls to be returned and reused at scale.
End walls are used in tesa plants to safely pack large industrial adhesive tape rolls for transport
Both initiatives demonstrate how supplier collaboration is essential to advancing circularity in packaging. By co developing solutions, aligning on material choices and closing loops across regions, tesa and its partners reduce waste, conserve resources and ensure reliable packaging performance – while accelerating the transition toward a circular economy.
