Sustainability performance confirmed: tesa receives EcoVadis Gold for the fourth year in a row
- Clear progress: Overall score increased, particularly in sustainable procurement
- Supply chain in focus: Supplier Green Energy Program measurably reduces Scope 3 emissions
- Comparable: Rating makes tesa’s sustainability performance measurable and auditable for customers worldwide
Norderstedt, 26 August 2026 – tesa, an international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, has once again been recognized by EcoVadis for its sustainability performance. The assessment took place in August 2026 as part of the current evaluation cycle. With 86 out of 100 points, tesa receives Gold status in 2026 for the fourth consecutive year and improves its overall score by four points compared with the previous year. This places tesa among the top 2 percent of all companies assessed worldwide.
“Sustainability is no longer an additional criterion, but a benchmark for competitiveness. The renewed EcoVadis recognition confirms that at tesa, we measure progress not only by our products, but also by how responsibly we shape value creation — from our own production to the supply chain. We see sustainability as a catalyst for innovation and have firmly anchored it in our strategy,” explains Dr. Ingrid Sebald, Chief Technology Officer at tesa.
Data quality and responsible procurement
EcoVadis (opens in a new window or tab) is a globally leading platform for sustainability and CSR ratings. It assesses companies in the areas of environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement, making supply chains more transparent and comparable. The positive development at tesa is based on improved data quality and stronger KPI reporting across all topic areas. Improvements are particularly evident in sustainable procurement, labor and human rights, and ethics. In the environmental area, tesa also confirms the already high level achieved in the previous year.
The increased transparency in the supply chain and the measurable impact of the Supplier Green Energy Program initiated by tesa on Scope 3 emissions had a positive effect on the assessment. Since 2024, tesa has been working with 20 strategic suppliers in this program to reduce energy-related emissions in the upstream supply chain. This includes energy efficiency measures as well as the purchase and generation of renewable energy. Initial reductions have already been achieved as a result.
Sustainability strategy “we do”: On course for climate-neutral production
The Gold medal confirms the direction of the “we do” sustainability strategy. By 2030, tesa aims to achieve climate-neutral production. Compared with the 2018 baseline year, the company has already reduced its Scope 1 and 2 CO₂ emissions in these areas by 50 percent. The CDP A rating, which tesa received in January for the third consecutive time for its climate protection commitment, underlines this progress. This shows that tesa combines sustainable growth with concrete measures, measurable results, and long-term responsibility.
