- Future-oriented: Focus on sustainability and digitalization
- Innovative: "Studyship Program" combines apprenticeship with dual studies
- Career-enhancing: 61% of technical specialists in Offenburg began as apprentices
Norderstedt, July 30, 2025 – tesa, international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, welcomes a total of 51 new apprentices and dual students at its German locations on September 1, 2025. With a wide range of technical apprenticeships and future-oriented degree programs, the company underscores its commitment to qualified young talent and Germany as a business location.
Training with a focus on future technologies
A total of 15 young talents are starting their professional careers at tesa's headquarters in Norderstedt. In addition to two apprentices for the chemical laboratory technician profession, 13 students are beginning various dual study programs. The spectrum ranges from industrial engineering to e-commerce to data science. "With our broad range of dual study programs, we are specifically responding to the challenges of the future. Particularly in the areas of sustainability and digitalization, we continuously develop tesa to position our company for the future and drive innovative solutions," explains Matthias Lindner, Head of Talent Management and Organizational Development at tesa.
New "Studyship Program" for future engineers
At the Hamburg plant, 17 apprentices and two dual students are starting in various technical fields – from chemical technicians to machine and equipment operators to electrical technicians. As an innovation, the Hamburg plant is introducing the "Studyship Program," which combines apprenticeship with subsequent dual bachelor studies. Here, engineers are trained with practical skills and theoretical expertise – a valuable combination for tesa as a technology company. As a significant employer in Hamburg, tesa specifically invests in young talent for the challenges of the future.
Outstanding success stories
At the tesa plant in Offenburg, 14 apprentices and three dual students are beginning their training with a focus on technical professions.
The success story of the training programs at tesa is particularly evident here: 61 percent of employees in the technical department in Offenburg are former apprentices of the company. A special feature of the training in Offenburg is its practical approach: The apprentices work directly on real production equipment and actual projects instead of in separate training workshops. The quality is reflected in the examination results: In 2024, a tesa apprentice was recognized as the best mechatronics technician in the chamber district, and two others received advancement awards.
Training as a response to demographic change
With its extensive training offerings, tesa is responding to the increasing skilled labor shortage in Germany. Demographic change presents major challenges for companies. "Through intensive promotion of young talent, we are not only securing the future of our own company but also making an important contribution to strengthening Germany as a business location," emphasizes Matthias Lindner, Head of Talent Management and Organizational Development.
