Materials science meets adhesive tape technology: tesa actively shapes MRS Fall Meeting 2025 for the first time
- Active role: tesa steps up as a strategic partner in shaping the global materials technology ecosystem
- Exchange & scaling: tesa brings research, start-ups, and industry together to drive innovation forward
- Future technology: Functional adhesive tapes as the foundation for sustainable products of tomorrow
Norderstedt – tesa, international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, underscores its growing importance as an innovation and technology partner in materials science with its presence at the "Materials Research Society (MRS) Fall Meeting & Exhibit 2025." From November 30 to December 5, 2025, the company will be represented in Boston not only as an exhibitor but will also actively participate in shaping the program for the first time. Among other activities, tutorials and a panel are being organized, and tesa is co-hosting a symposium on "Functional Films & Adhesives" (SF08). This strengthens tesa's position in the global materials technology ecosystem and specifically promotes the translation of scientific findings into sustainable industrial applications.
Innovation through networking and speed
The MRS Fall Meeting is regarded as one of the world's most important meeting points for materials science, technology development, and industrial implementation. Here, leading research teams, start-ups and companies discuss the industry's key challenges and trends. tesa strategically uses this framework to advance collaborations with partners whose technologies are on the verge of industrial scaling.
"Our industry is currently experiencing tremendous momentum," says Dr. Ingrid Sebald, Board Member Technology at tesa. "Many material technologies are on the brink of entering industrial applications. That's exactly where we come in: We connect scientific excellence with a strong network and industrial implementation capability. This way, we significantly accelerate the development of market-ready solutions. The MRS Fall Meeting is the strategic hub for us where research and application directly converge."
Functional adhesive tapes as key to future technologies
The focus of tesa's research and development activities is on functional adhesive tapes that can do much more than just bond. They can integrate electrical conductivity, thermal properties, or sensory functions, opening up entirely new design and application possibilities. Furthermore, they contribute to the circular economy – for example, through "Debonding on Demand" technologies that support material separation, improved recycling, and reworkability.
"We are convinced that the future of bonding solutions lies in functional adhesive tapes – in solutions that take on additional functions and enable new sustainable applications," explains Prof. Dr. Andreas Lendlein, Head of Technical Business Development & Science Office at tesa.
Dialogue, cooperation, and application
With tutorials, panels, and the symposium "Functional Films & Adhesives," tesa is shaping the MRS Fall Meeting 2025 more comprehensively than ever before. The company creates space for application-oriented discussions, technological advancement, and the joint identification of new industrial use cases.
Starting November 30, tesa will be present at the MRS Fall Meeting – booth number 918. Start-ups, technology developers, and industry partners are invited to jointly identify opportunities for new applications, collaborations, and technological acceleration.
