Adhesive solution of the future: tesa wins MMK Award of Excellence 2025 with "Debonding on Demand" technology
- Award-winning: tesa wins MMK Award of Excellence in the "Sustainable Engineering" category for its "Debonding on Demand" technology
- Circular economy: "Debonding on Demand" solutions enable controlled debonding for improved recycling and reuse
- Pioneer: market-leading technology for many industries, from consumer electronics to automotive
Norderstedt - tesa, an international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, has been honored with the MMK Award of Excellence 2025 in the "Sustainable Engineering" category for its "Debonding on Demand" technology. This technology sets new standards in production and recycling management, as it enables permanent adhesive bonds to be released without leaving any residue. In this way, tesa makes an important contribution to conserving resources and offers its customers and partners a significant technological advantage.
A revolution in bonding solutions
“Debonding on demand” solutions make it possible to release adhesive bonds by means of targeted external influences such as heat or electrical impulses without significant time expenditure or material damage. This makes recycling much easier, especially in the electronics and automotive industries, where sustainable disassembly is becoming increasingly important. tesa thus offers an answer to the ‘right to repair’ and creates new opportunities for more sustainable production and repair processes.
Award for „Sustainable Engineering“
"Receiving the MMK Award of Excellence confirms our efforts to offer innovations with real added value for our customers and to contribute to the circular economy," says Dr. Norman Goldberg, CEO of tesa. "Our high-performance 'Debonding on Demand' technology makes assembly and disassembly processes more efficient and resource-saving. This also gives our customers and partners a decisive competitive advantage and enables us to meet the growing demand for more sustainable adhesive solutions."
MMK Award highlights innovative and sustainable engineering achievements
The MMK Award of Excellence was presented on March 11 and 12 as part of the Munich Management Colloquium. In the "Sustainable Engineering" category, attention is paid to sustainability, feasibility, reproducibility, scalability and life cycle analysis. tesa came out on top with its "Debonding on Demand" technology against Ceratizit Deutschland GmbH and Ventilatorenfabrik Oelde GmbH.
