Norderstedt – tesa, international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, today celebrates the 10th anniversary of its headquarters in Norderstedt. On January 28, 2016, the modern building was officially opened, marking a milestone in the company's history. With an investment volume of around 160 million euros at the time, an integrated building complex was created on 86,000 square meters, combining headquarters, research and technology center. Today, more than 1,500 employees from 57 nations work here, a vibrant and diverse center of global expertise and collaboration.

Modern location with integrated innovation center

The strategic decision to unite headquarters, research and technology center at one location has proven to be the key to success. Since opening ten years ago, an integrated campus has emerged that systematically promotes interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. The spatial proximity of business units, marketing, product and technology development, as well as other corporate areas enables quick decisions and intensive exchange.

The spatial integration of all functional areas under one roof significantly accelerates our innovation cycles and enables close collaboration with customers from all over the world."

In the Customer Solution Center, the Pilot Center and Analytics, customers can test their specific challenges directly on site together with tesa experts. In the automation area alone, two to three such customer visits take place every week, making the location a place of real value creation for customers.

Continuous development for the future

tesa continuously invests in the further development of the Norderstedt location, including in terms of sustainability. A heat pump was installed and a photovoltaic system on the roof was put into operation. With an annual sustainability week, tesa sends a strong signal for environmental responsibility. In parallel, the company is driving forward digital transformation at the location, creating the foundation for future-proof working. In addition, the laboratories and technical facilities have been expanded and modernized to meet the increasing demands for innovation and product development.

The location also remains attractive as an employer: Last year, applications in the six-figure range were received. Currently, 35 trainees and dual students are starting their careers here – proof of the location's appeal in the region, which impresses with its own company restaurant, a barista bar for all employees, as well as a gym and extensive sports facilities.
