tesa SE: Thomas Schlegel steps down as Chairman of the Board for personal reasons - Dr. Robert Gereke will succeed him from February 2016



As of January 31, 2016, Thomas Schlegel will step down as the Chair of the tesa SE Executive Board after more than seven years in the role, and will leave the company to devote himself to a new stage in his life. The Supervisory Board has appointed Dr. Robert Gereke, currently tesa’s Head of Industrial Business, as his successor.

Dr. Robert Gereke, who began his career at automobile supplier Continental, moved to what was then the tesa division of Beiersdorf AG in 1993. The doctor of chemistry has held various management positions in the area of research and development, as well as in quality management and industrial marketing. After tesa AG was established as an independent subsidiary of the Beiersdorf Group in 2001, he took over management of the industrial business, and was appointed to the Executive Board in 2006.

tesa SE has been an independent company within the Beiersdorf Group since 2001. Since it was established, tesa has proved dynamic in its development. In particular, the proportion of sales and profit coming from outside Europe has been increased disproportionately through the consistent development of structures in the growth regions. With around 4,100 employees worldwide, in 2014 the company recorded sales of € 1,076 million.
