New bathroom innovation: tesa and IKEA introduce KROKSJÖN

Norderstedt – tesa, international manufacturer of innovative adhesive tapes and self-adhesive product solutions, extends its cooperation with IKEA by introducing the new wall mounting kit called KROKSJÖN. This revolutionary adhesive mounting system simplifies bathroom organization – completely without drilling or tools. The special feature: KROKSJÖN uses an adhesive that requires no warning labels – a market innovation that not only offers exceptional holding power but is also safer to use thanks to its new formula.

Innovative adhesive solution for bathroom organization

KROKSJÖN was specifically developed together with IKEA to support the IKEA bathroom series FLORSJÖN and BROFJÄRDEN. It enables simple, residue-free mounting on tiles, glass, concrete, and other smooth surfaces. The application is intuitive: Once the surface is cleaned, the adapter can be applied and the adhesive filled in. After 24 hours, the adhesive has cured and the mounts can be installed.

Anton Borg, Product Development Engineer at IKEA of Sweden adds: “We know that more and more people today want to avoid drilling into walls, whether they rent or own their home. The good thing about the adhesive KROKSJÖN is that it holds considerably more weight than a suction cup and adheres just as good to concrete as it does to glass or tiles. And when you move or want to remodel your bathroom, you can simply remove it all. Without any glue residue or holes left on the wall.”

International distribution planned

Production of KROKSJÖN began in June 2025 and will become available in IKEA stores in Europe and Middle East soon. Expansion into North America and Asian markets is planned in the second wave.

KROKSJÖN is the second joint product innovation from tesa and IKEA, following the ALFTA hook set that the partners jointly launched in 2020.
