We are seeking a talented and motivated Technology Developer that will specialize in Hotmelt Technologies to join our team. In this role, developing and optimizing hotmelt adhesive formulations and processes to meet the specific requirements of our customers will be one of your main responsibilities. You will build a detailed understanding of current raw material offerings in the market and formulation requirements. Translating lab-based formulations to our pilot line which can generate rapid prototypes while pushing the boundaries of our current processing capabilities will be a process you own. You'll get the chance to work with Product Development (PD), Pilot Center Engineering (PC), Production Engineering, and New Business Development to ensure the successful implementation of new technologies for our customers.
How you'll help the formula:
- Develop and optimize hotmelt adhesive formulations for various applications
- Build local expertise on specific raw material processing and formulation capabilities including synthetic rubber and acrylics
- Build local expertise on lab-to-pilot processing of hotmelt adhesive raw materials and formulations
- Analyze and interpret data to make informed decisions and recommendations
- Stay informed on the latest advances in hotmelt technologies in academia and trends within the industry
- Collaborate with Product Development (PD), Pilot Center Engineering (PC), and Production Engineering to ensure seamless technology transfer
- Build strong relationships with raw material suppliers and stay up-to-date with market offerings in the space
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Key elements for your role:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Hotmelt formulation or extrusion industry experience advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and organization skills
- Self-motivated and innately curious to solve problems quickly and creatively
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
