Global Product Manager- Electrical Systems
Location: USA, Sparta MI
Function: Sales
- Strategic new product conception and development, in conjunction within the BU sales, market development manager, R+D, manufacturing and customer experts. Close collaboration with relevant stakeholders during new product ideation phase is expected followed by subsequent ownership of the product development cycle.
- Assortment responsibilities include total cost management in collaboration with (R&D/tSN/tPN/TCM/QM). He or she needs to steer activities such as raw material changes, relocation of production and other measures with the target to continuously lower the ICP, improve quality, smoothly ramp up new products, etc.
- Product launch preparation in conjunction with relevant departments to drive market development
- Build relationships with customers to share product expertise/training, understand competition and have a concise understanding of customers needs and manufacturing processes
- Apply product knowledge to support the ttNA quality system as required
- Analysis and understanding of key competitive product assortment attributes, advantages and disadvantages that is documented and benchmarked on an on-going basis
- Product portfolio analysis and subsequent actions, including pruning and pricing positioning recommendations aligned with the BU global pricing policy.
- Partner with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure appropriate actions necessary to match supply with demand
- Align with other relevant marketing functions to help promote product assortment marketing content, white papers etc.
- Ensure an optimal flow of information between BU objectives and regional marketing team to effectively drive growth in the market
- Responsible for new item creation process including cost of materials estimation, packaging, sales materials, promotions and participation in marketing and sales events as needed
- The holder of this position is responsible for the planning and monitoring of PNS / M1 development of the products under their responsibility as defined in the annual business plan (ABP). In case of unexpected deviations, root cause analysis is done and counter-measures are defined and implemented together with sales and/or manufacturing.
- Four-year college degree in engineering or marketing. (MBA preferred.)
- 5+ years of industrial product management experience
- Agile and/or cross-functional project management experience
- Demonstrated pro-active mindset with natural curiosity and entrepreneurial spirit
- Strong organizational and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead without authority
- Successful product development experience launching new products from ideation through commercialization
- Ability to travel including frequent travel between tesa’s Novi and Sparta offices as well as some international travel (up to 30%)
- Foreign language capability (Spanish) a plus
