Backboard Splicing Tape for Securing MDF Furniture Panels

In the furniture industry, the tesa® 58290 PET Backboard Splicing Tape plays a very important role. It is used to join the (folded) MDF (medium-density fibreboard) or HDF (high-density fibreboard) panels on the back of kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, cupboards, shelves, and other furniture.

The tesa® 58290 Backboard Splicing Tape is a transparent PET-based tape with an acrylic adhesive. To secure the furniture panels effectively, the tapes have a very good initial tack and strong permanent adhesion, even on rough surfaces. As the furniture might be used in a kitchen or bathroom for a long time, the backboard splicing tape also is age-resistant, even in an environment with high humidity and high temperatures.

Backboard Splicing: High Tech for Rough Furniture Panels

Another essential quality of the tesa® 58290 Backboard Splicing Tape is its high resistance to tear propagation. The PET backing reliably diverts any longitudinal tear into a lateral direction. The tape is thin and easy to use, but nevertheless ensures a stable splice of the furniture panels. It is available on rolls up to 660 m and can be used with automated applicators.
