Business Development Engineer, E-Powertrain

About the role

The responsibility of the BDE is to successfully establish first sales in a strategic area (E-Powertrain) with new customer contacts and to ensure roll-out. This includes steering global projects, pricing and understanding customer needs.

What you will do

The Business Development Engineer (BDE) is responsible to enter new customers or new customer segments for one strategic field of tesa. He/She initiates new contacts, starts and implements first sales projects at high potential customers.

He/She visits customer’s design centers, Headquarters or other Decision Making Units and establishes first relationships. The responsibility of the BDE is to successfully establish first sales in a strategic area (E-Powertrain) with new customer contacts and to ensure roll-out. This includes steering global projects, pricing and understanding customer needs.

What you will need

Educational qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Engineer /technical background.
  • Very good English and Japanese skills

Relevant experience

  • 5 year of relevant technical experience in automotive with customers contacts.
  • 3 years sales experience or similar communication and networking experience

Personal characteristics & behaviours

  • Strong acquaintance to technical issues, good curiosity/ inventiveness.
  • Despite this strong tech background, good understanding of customer “non rational drivers”: = nGood emotional intelligence to go below the surface. Good “technical story teller”.
  • Is self-confident and can make his point and advocate his opinions inside tesa organization:GKAM team, R&D, Marketing, countries.
  • Active listener and excellent net worker within tesa organization and customer organization.
  • Excellent socialiser and team player
  • High level of intercultural awareness
  • Keep his self-control and analytical capabilities under pressure.
