Associate Scientist

Drive the development of new and improved key technology building blocks within a broader and more complex requirement framework while systematically expanding knowledge within their sub technology field.

• Initiate, perform and support key developments of products, materials, processes, technology modules and methods within the framework of feasibility studies, business cases and/or projects, incl. experimental work and coordination of lab, pilot or production trials;
• Continuously ensure and drive the development of knowledge within specific sub technology field (width & depth);
• Contribute to and initiate invention disclosures;
• Perform literature and patent searches in consultation with the related responsible persons, support FTO analysis from a technological perspective;
• Provide input to the relevant Technology Roadmap(s) while making investment recommendations for technology development;
• Actively build up and maintain internal and external networks, with the focus on technological aspects incl. scouting and screening of new raw materials  (e.g. suppliers, institutions, academia);
• Being a project leader/member to ensure good project management of all technical aspects allowing timescales to be set and progress to be monitored closely.

• PHD / Master degree majoring in Polymer Materials and Engineering;
• 3 above years of experience in relevant fields is preferred;
• Assertive personality combining proven hands-on mentality with excellent technical comprehension;
• Identify, assess and solve problems;
• Foster natural curiosity, explore new ideas, and think creatively for innovative solutions;
• Plan, organize and prioritize tasks, manage resources and time within projects effectively and meet deadlines;
• Manage complex projects and deal with stakeholders across different hierarchy levels.
• Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
• Fluent oral and written English.
