01Clean the window frame
First, you should clean your window frame. For lighter dirt, water and dish soap are sufficient. For stubborn dirt, you can use special frame cleaners.
Cold rooms with the heating on continuously are quickly noticed. The correct conclusion: leaky windows. In the second step, however, you must first find the leaky spots. Often, they are only a few millimeters wide cracks that are hardly noticeable. With this simple trick, you can quickly find the leaky problem spots.
Close all windows and doors and light a candle (you can also use a lighter). Now guide the candle or lighter along the window frames and watch the flame. You recognize leaky spots when the flame starts to flicker.
Once the leaky spots have been discovered, you can quickly and easily seal these windows.
Since there are many different types of windows, we have developed just as many variants of window seals. So you always find the right seal for your windows.
Basically, our different seals differ in two aspects. On one side, the seals have different materials. There are rubber seals, silicone seals, and foam seals. Additionally, the size of the leaky spots is an important factor. You will find seals for smaller cracks, i.e., between 1 - 3.5 mm. But we have also developed the right seals for larger spots up to 7 mm.
Of course, you can use our seals not only for windows but also for your doors. The self-adhesive side of the window seals ensures easy installation. Some window seals are available in different colors or sizes. Alternatively, you can also cut the sealing tapes individually.
There are, of course, other methods to seal your windows. Some windows can also be sealed with acrylic and silicone. For this, the old sealing compound should first be removed with a spatula. Then the gaps on the window must be thoroughly cleaned. After that, you can apply the new sealing compound with a cartridge gun and later smooth the gap with a joint smoother or damp cloth. Now you can attach the new seal with the foil and close the window. After at least two hours, the seal is dry and the foil can be removed. This alternative method is significantly more complex compared to our sealing tapes. If you have little or no manual skills, tesa® window seals are excellent for quickly and easily sealing windows.
You can quickly and easily install our window seals. With just a few steps, your windows are sealed. The stress due to cold drafts and high costs is forgotten. Our seals are generally self-adhesive, so you only need to stick the sealing tape to the leaky spot.

If temperatures remain consistently low despite the heating being on or if there is a draft, you should seal the windows as soon as possible. Condensation on the window can be another indication of leaky windows.
