Our People Values

There are values that are particularly important to us and behaviors that forge us together -- no matter which part of the company or in which of the more than 100 countries we work.

Our People Values are the core competencies and character traits of our organization. They shape our culture and provide a framework for our daily tasks and collaboration at tesa. By living up to our values and bringing our values to life, each and every employee shapes our tesa culture. Let’s team up and shape our culture together!

Meet our people

Jamie Huston, Controlling Manager, North America

What initially attracted you to tesa?
I first started with tesa Plant Sparta. I liked the idea of being in an environment where I could see the manufacturing process start to finish, and be able to incorporate that knowledge more in my area of work. I also was interested in the industry, which was new to me.

What are your favorite things about working for tesa?
The tesa culture is great. I have had a great work-life balance and day-to-day feel empowered to make decisions and do my work in the ways I see fit. I’ve had so many opportunities for growth here and I really enjoy the teams I have had the opportunity to work with.

Describe your experience(s) working in a multi-cultural environment. What have been your key takeaways from these experiences?
I love working in a multi-cultural environment. I’ve had the opportunities through work to travel places I may never have otherwise and really get a chance to experience something outside of my “normal”. I enjoy learning things from my colleagues in other cultures / regions. With the addition of Teams I am able to interact a lot more with people geographically far away and it this has really been an advantage with working together to solve multi location topics.

What’s an unexpected thing you’d like others to know about tesa
Not being from Europe, I did not realize that tesa was a very big consumer brand there. I also didn’t realize that tesa tape is in SO many places and things!

What initially attracted you to tesa?
tesa initially attracted me because it was growing so much. At the time I started, the Sparta, MI plant had just transitioned to SAP/Globe, and recently put in the CCNAM Waterborne Coater. Big things were happening, and we’ve only gotten bigger and better since then! Plant Sparta has had multiple building expansions in the time I worked there, and installed new coating and converting capabilities. The Grand Rapids warehouse in Walker is also going through a major upgrade that is really fun to be a part of.

What reasons would you give to someone in recommending tesa as a place to work?
Recommending tesa as a great place to work is easy. I’ve done so on multiple occasions! The supportive environment between colleagues, as well as from management, is probably the biggest reason. It makes coming to work a positive experience, even when the day-to-day job is challenging. I recommend it from a growth standpoint as well, because it’s really exciting to be part of a company that is always changing and improving. I also really appreciate everything tesa does from a sustainability and environmental standpoint.

What’s an unexpected thing you’d like others to know about tesa?
If you’re interested in learning a new language, there are colleagues everywhere, in the office or just a Teams call away, who will gladly teach you new words or give you pointers on your pronunciation!
