Charlotte, N.C., April 6, 2023 – tesa tape North America has a new leader. On March 29, Tobias Banik was appointed to President and Regional Manager for tesa tape, inc., succeeding Daniel Germain. In his new role, Banik leads tesa’s North American business, which includes operations in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Banik has been at tesa for 13 years, starting as a Supply Chain Intern in Singapore. He then transitioned to tesa Plant Hamburg in Germany, where he held various engineering and management roles over eight years. He moved to the U.S. in 2018 to assume the role of General Manager for tesa Plant Sparta in Michigan. During his five years as General Manager, he helped establish a stronger North American footprint by significantly expanding both the Sparta facility and workforce.
With Banik’s appointment, tesa Plant Sparta also has a new General Manager: Armin Hagenloch, previously the plant’s Production Manager. With over 20 years of manufacturing and management experience, Hagenloch is well-positioned to lead the growing facility into a more technical, sustainable, and innovative future.
Effective May 1, Jason Kirk, currently Head of Industrial Trade and Converting for tesa Greater China, will move into the newly created role of Head of Sales and Marketing Industry for North America. Kirk has been with tesa for 19 years, holding various sales, marketing, and management roles in the U.S., India, Singapore, and China.
“It’s a true honor to be selected as the next North American President and Regional Manager,” says Banik. “I’ve seen not only the Sparta facility, but tesa tape as a whole grow and change in exciting ways during my tenure. With our great team in place, I’m looking forward to continuing our growth trajectory in both the near and long-term future.”
