tesa awarded for the company's innovative power

Today, tesa received the TOP 100 Award 2021, which recognizes especially innovative medium-sized companies. For this award, tesa proved its innovative strength in a scientific selection process, where the company scored particularly well in the categories "Innovation-promoting top management" and "Innovative processes and organization".

During the TOP 100 innovation competition, the innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke and his team comprehensively analyzed and assessed the innovative strength of the participating companies. The researchers used approximately 120 test criteria from five categories: innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation, and innovation success. Using these criteria, the panel analyzed whether innovations in the participating companies are the result of planned procedures or just a coincidence. The repeatability of innovation achievements was therefore tested (further information on the test criteria is available at www.top100.de/pruefkriterien).

At tesa, the management's innovation initiative provided the necessary stimulus to optimize many innovation processes or to set them up anew. "Every year, tesa develops up to 100 new adhesive solutions. Many of them set new standards and support the innovation efforts of our customers," says CEO and chemist Dr. Norman Goldberg.

More than 500 product and technology developers collaborate very closely with customers all over the world. There are Customer Solution Centers at the tesa corporate Headquarter in Norderstedt, in China, and in the USA. In these centers, new products are developed together with customers, for example for the automotive, electronics or construction industries. Thus, development times can be significantly reduced, which is extremely relevant for the electronics industry, for example, when manufacturers bring new generations of devices with updated designs onto the market every year.

tesa also redesigned the project management and agile methods were introduced in the development. This way, the company can react faster to changes in the market and adapt better to the product life cycles of its customers.

The winners of this year's TOP 100 will meet today at the 7th German SME Summit (“7. Deutscher Mittelstands-Summit”) in Ludwigsburg to receive their awards from Ranga Yogeshwar. The science journalist has accompanied the innovation competition as a mentor for ten years.
