Head of Packaging Excellence Consumer (m/f/x)

What you will do

The packaging is the face of our brand and one of the most important touchpoints to the end consumer.

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Head of Packaging Excellence to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the packaging design and development efforts for our consumer products. You will be leading a team of packaging professionals and working cross-functionally with marketing, purchasing, the plants and external partners to develop and execute competitive packaging strategies that drive brand excellence, tesa’s high-quality standards, and consumer satisfaction.

Your tasks:

  • Transformation of tesa Consumer Packaging: Development of innovative sustainable packaging strategies
  • Ensuring the execution of new packaging projects as part of tesa's sustainability strategy
  • Responsible for the development of the new ‘Design to Print Process’ as well as its implementation with subsequent ownership
  • Technical and disciplinary management of the Packaging Excellence Consumer Team
  • Responsibility for packaging optimisation and new packaging development within the framework of the associated internal processes, working cross-functionally with marketing, purchasing, and plants
  • Derivation and creation of targets as well as the tracking of target achievement
  • Identification of optimization potentials and ownership of projects for the further development of tesa consumer packaging
  • Monitoring of the responsible processes regarding costs, service, quality, and compliance

What you will need

  • Studies of Packaging Technology, preferably with a focus on packaging technology, process engineering, plastics or production technology/management, or Business Engineering with a focus on packaging technology
  • Profound experience in the field of packaging development
  • Knowledge in the field of sustainable packaging is an advantage
  • Passionate and experienced leader and team player
  • Can-Do mentality: positive, proactive, solution-oriented
  • Excellent project management skills: stay focused, prioritize, and stay organized
  • Experience in working as an interface function in an international matrix organization
  • Good SAP knowledge is an advantage
  • Fluent in English and German
