tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond
Environmentally friendly surface treatment to improve adhesion to various substrates
Product descriptiontesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond is a fast-acting, transparent, isopropanol-based adhesion promoter especially designed for an improved impact on the environment and work conditions. It is a special adhesion-promoting solution for the pretreatment of surfaces prior to bonding.
It enhances better and faster adhesion of tesa's ACXplus product family on various substrates.
Main applicationsWe recommend using our tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond to improve the adhesion on several substrates, particularly on most metals (e.g., aluminum and steel) and other non-porous materials. It is not suitable, however, for plastics and other low-surface-energy substrates. The compatibility with other surfaces/substrates should always be tested accordingly. This product can be used to improve the bonding strength of tesa® ACXplus tapes as testing shows significantly higher peel adhesion values.
Product Advantages: tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond offers the following benefits
- Environmentally friendly
- Enhanced adhesion on various substrates
- Reduced hazard to health
- Lesser safety precautions
- Short drying time
- Easy to use
- Non-offensive odor

Additional InfoBefore using our adhesion promoter, the bonding surface should be free of dust, grease, oil, moisture, and other contaminants. Therefore, we highly recommend cleaning the substrate with a lint-free cloth using solvents, such as ethanol, isopropanol or our tesa® 60040 Industry Cleaner. Once the surface has been cleaned, you can go ahead and apply our tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond. The ideal application and surface temperature is between 15 °C and 25 °C.
We recommend applying our adhesion promoter with a thin lint-free cloth (pen, brush or sponge should not be used). The entire surface should be coated thinly with the adhesion promoter in order to reach the highest bonding performance. Excess of activator could lead to adhesion failure. It is important to wait at least 10 minutes in order to give solvents time to evaporate. Please make sure to keep the prepared surface free of contaminants prior to applying the tape.
Once the substrate has been pre-treated properly with tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond, the bond should be established within 2 hours. If the pre-treated area is not bonded within 2 hours, the activation process has to be repeated (once only). Please note that due to the multitude of available substrate formulations in the marketplace, we recommend testing our tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond prior to usage.
Tightly reseal container immediately after each use. tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond is a moisture reactive system. Prolonged exposure to atmospheric moisture will cause the product to become turbid and thus inactive. Do not use tesa® 60155 Adhesion Promoter EcoBond if it has become opaque instead of transparent.
The shelf life of this product amounts to at least 12 months when stored at room temperature in its original sealed container. For further information and advice on safe handling, please refer to our safety data sheet (SDS), which is available upon request.
