Nele Ren
A Guest Appearance in Germany
It is a common practice for large companies to send their employees to other countries for career purposes. However, the opposite is also true: At tesa, Nela gives international input as an ‘inpat’.
The Chinese city of Suzhou is located about 8,500 kilometers from Norderstedt. What connects the two cities with each other: Both are home to a location of the adhesive specialist tesa – There is a large production plant in eastern China, and the company headquarters is in northern Germany.Nela knows both places. She worked in Suzhou until mid-2019. Since then she manages a laboratory for the development of adhesive tapes in the area of rubber technology at the Norderstedt Research Center.
Becoming an allrounder like Linda Schleining
Becoming an All-Rounder Abroad
With initiative, flexibility, and self-confidence, in five years, Linda has followed an “exotic” career path at tesa.
Germany, Singapore, the Netherlands. These are Linda´s stations at the beginning of her career at the adhesive specialist tesa. The 30-year-old calls it an “alternative career”, but it could also be described as an internship with consequences. And it all began in 2012, after her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Hamburg. Born in Cologne, she worked at the tesa affiliate Scribos and became a “tesa talent” – She was thus admitted to the corporate pool for potential junior staff.
Wilhelm Watzke
A Product Manager with a Background in Research
The certified materials scientist Wilhelm started his career at tesa in the research laboratory – and then successfully jumped into a new department: Marketing.
Anyone who googles his name will come across the term “inventor”. Wilhelm is listed with the identification number “EP2684927A2” in the register of the European Patent Office. Together with two colleagues, the graduate engineer for material science developed an adhesive tape for improved protection for glass edges, especially on solar modules – registered in 2013 by his employer tesa.
