Sealing Oven Doors with ACXplus 76636
The tesa® ACXplus 76636 was developed to keep ovens (and specifically oven doors) hot on the inside and cool on the outside. Typical applications of the ACXplus 76636 include the separation of the inner and outer glass of the oven door and the bonding of the glass to the metal frame.
As tesa® ACXplus 76636 is much thicker than similar tapes, it can be used to close certain gaps between hot and cool parts of the oven that are usually hard to deal with. Typical applications of the ACXplus 76636 include the separation of the inner and outer glass of the oven door and the bonding of the glass to the metal frame.
The tesa® ACXplus 76636 is a 3,600 µm thick version of the ACXplus 706x series. The deep-black double-sided acrylic foam tape combines extraordinary adhesion levels with a very good resistance to plasticizer migration. It also has the bonding power, temperature resistance, and stress dissipation needed for the sealing of oven doors.
The tesa® ACXplus 76636 provides an excellent immediate tack and peel adhesion. Even materials with a low surface energy like powder coatings or plastic materials can be securely bonded. And thanks to its viscoelastic core, it is able to compensate for the differing thermal elongations of the bonded parts of the oven door.
