Product description

tesa® ACXplus 7096 is a double-sided acrylic foam tape, available in deep black. It consists of a high performance acrylic system and is primarily characterised by its bonding power and stress dissipation characteristics.

Our new LSE ( Low Surface Energy) performer series features an innovative functional adhesive layer that makes strong bonds to low surface energy substrates (such as critical plastics and powder-coatings) possible without the requirement of a surface pre-treatment (e.g. with adhesion promoter). Furthermore, 709x enables the ability to process tape in unheated production environments with temperatures down to 0° C. Due to the product's unique formulation, this double-sided acrylic foam tape combines very high adhesion levels with the ability to absorb and dissipate high dynamic loads. The viscoelastic core of this product is able to compensate thermal elongation of bonded parts. tesa® ACXplus 7096 performs well on a broad variety of substrates including powder-coated surfaces and critical plastics. Even in combinations of such materials, this product provides advanced safety due to its innovative product design.

Main applications

The tesa® ACXplus product family is suitable for a wide range of constructive bonding applications. To ensure the highest performance possible, our aim is to fully understand the application (including the substrates involved) in order to provide the right product recommendation. Example mounting applications include but are not limited to:

  • Reinforcement bar (also referred to as stiffener bar) mounting (e.g. in elevators)
  • Mounting of critical plastics or low surface energy substrates (LSE surfaces including powder-coatings)
  • Mounting applications in unheated/cold production facilities (depending on the end-product application)
