tesa® 60152 Adhesion Promoter PU/HPVC

Surface treatment to improve adhesion to PU and HPVC

Product description

tesa® 60152 Adhesion Promoter PU/HPVC can be used to improve the adhesion of tesa's pressure-sensitive adhesive tape offering (especially our tesa® ACXplus product family) to PU (polyurethane) and HPVC (hard polyvinyl chloride/PVC-U/rigid PVC) substrates. The UV-traceability of this adhesion promoter allows easy quality control during the application process.

Application Fields

This adhesion promoter is recommended for PU (polyurethane) and hard PVC (polyvinyl chloride) only and can be used to significantly improve the bonding strength of tesa® ACXplus tapes (testing shows significantly higher peel adhesion values).

Additional Info

The bonding surface (substrate) should be free of dust, grease, oil, moisture, and other contaminants before using adhesion promoter. Therefore, we strongly recommend cleaning the substrate with a lint-free cloth using appropriate solvents (e.g. ethanol or isopropanol alcohol).

Once the surface has been cleaned, you can apply tesa® Adhesion Promoter 60152. We recommend applying our adhesion promoter with a lint-free cloth or brush. Alternatively, an applicator pen or felt applicator can be used. The entire surface should be coated thinly with adhesion promoter in order to reach the highest bonding performance. It is important to wait at least 2 minutes (and a maximum of 5 minutes) in order to give the solvents time to evaporate. Please make sure to keep the prepared surface free of contaminants prior to applying the tape. Once the substrate has been properly pre-treated with tesa® Adhesion Promoter 60152, the open time for bonding is several hours/days.

Please note that due to the multitude of available substrate formulations in the marketplace, it is recommended to test tesa® Adhesion Promoter prior to usage.
