Job Summary

The Technical Manager is responsible for the technical development of Sparta plant. He/she oversees the maintenance department as well as the plant engineer. He/she is responsible for all capital investment projects related to machinery, buildings, and infrastructure. He/she ensures the availability, maintenance, and continuous optimization of daily production equipment. In addition, he/she is responsible machine commissioning.

Principal Accountabilities / Main Functions

  • Leads the plant’s Maintenance and plant engineering department.
  • Initiates, leads, and facilitates capital investment projects for all production machines, buildings, and plant infrastructure.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes short-, mid-, and long-term project/investment plans according to the plant’s needs and the company’s strategy.
  • Participates on the plant’s management team, develops and executes plant’s strategy.
  • Establishes and maintains international tesa supply network expert team exchange for maintenance and engineering.
  • Enforces all legal, plant and company rules with special emphasis on safety, quality and environmental standards.
  • Establishes and enforces safe and environmentally sound manufacturing practices in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements (MIOSHA, DEQE, etc.).

Hiring Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field;
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of Electrical Engineering, Maintenance and Project management experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Experience must include two (2) years of management/supervisory experience;
  • Experience in coating, mixing, and/or converting and web handling preferred
  • Experience in solvent recovery, RTO and air handling preferred
  • Preference for ISO/TS 16949 and IATF knowledge and the ability to become an internal auditor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication, conflict management, problem-solving and organizational skills;
  • Must be able to travel up to 5% domestically and internationally.



  • Well-developed project management, teamwork and leadership skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, PLC skills preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on short and long term objectives.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and present complex data to multiple levels of the organization
