Perfect Form, Optimum Handling
tesa wins iF product design award 2008 twice over
The mark of good design is not only a pleasing appearance, but also ease of handling. Excellent design aspires to the perfect marriage of form and function, a principle that also applies to the many tesa products that make our everyday lives easier and more creative – at the office, at home, and at school. The judging panel for the internationally renowned iF product design award watches for products that not only demonstrate impressive design but are also easy to use. At tesa, the experts found what they were looking for, not once, but twice, granting awards to both the tesafilm® Mini Dispenser and tesa Powerstrips® Hooks Small Rectangle.

In terms of design quality, manufacturing, and material selection, the top designers who made up the panel of judges were equally impressed with both tesa products. As jury chairman Fritz Frenkler says, “only those who recognize that simplicity and ease of use go hand in hand for products will enjoy long-term success and play a role in shaping the ‘New Modernism.’”
The tesafilm® Mini Dispenser impressed audiences with its ergonomic shape. Its attractive design was built precisely around the tesafilm® roll. The ergonomic shape guarantees a firm hold and flexible use at the same time. The dispenser is compact and handy and can be worn on a finger, keeping both hands free at all times for repairs, craft projects, and packaging.
tesa Powerstrips® Hooks Small Rectangle are a new addition to the tesa product range and will be commercially available starting in July 2008. The hooks have a clean, updated shape and come in the popular colors of white and matte chrome. Their unobtrusive design makes them the perfect fit in any location – from the home to the workshop or the office. It was this versatility that won over the jury as well, which singled out the innovative Powerstrips® adhesive technology for a special mention.
The two awards were granted on March 4 at the 2008 CeBIT computer trade fair in Hanover.
