DIY Flower Wreath

A riot of colors: Every flower is a little handmade work or art that will be deftly snipped off and attached to a ring.



  • styrofoam sealing ring ø approx. 25 cm
  • white crêpe paper
  • ribbon for hanging
  • scissors
  • tesa® double-sided tape
  • colorful paper with a small flower design, e.g. Washi Origami Paper

We'll need styrofoam sealing ring ø approx. 25 cm, white crêpe paper, ribbon for hanging, scissors tesa® double-sided tape, and colorful paper with a small flower design, e.g. Washi Origami Paper.

Cut out squares from the paper. Fold them in half.

Cut out 14 x 14 cm squares from the paper. Fold the squares in half.

Fold them in half again.

Fold them in half again, making another square.

Then, fold the closed corners over one another, making a triangle.

Cut the upper open edge into a curved shape. The more that is cut, the smaller the flower will be.

Now the flower will get it's shape: If you want it a "fringy" look, cut long jags into the curved side; if you want it to be rounded, cut shorter, wider jags or small curves.

Now make small notches in the lower area. They can be cut lengthwise or crosswise.

Try out different shapes and let your creativity run wild. It's not about being precise. You'll find yourself making all kinds of different flowers, which will give the wreath its charm.

Attach the flowers to the wreath, close together.

Cut out an 8 cm strip from the crêpe paper and wrap it around the styrofoam wreath. Tape the ends together in the back. Put a small piece of tesa® double-sided tape on the back of each flower and attach the flowers to the wreath, close together.
