How to do it

Laying carpet, step by step

Rule number one: The carpeting and the carpet laying tape must be designed to go with each other. tesa® Hook-and-Loop Carpet Laying Tape, with its special hook-and-loop technology (1), is ideally suited for use with all types of carpet with nonwoven fabric or felt backings.

Adhere the Carpet Laying Tape to clean, dry floor in a grid of squares of approximately the same size, starting as close to the wall as possible (2).

Unroll the custom-cut carpeting carefully and evenly, so that there are no folds (3).Then press it firmly onto the floor.

To make space for the sideboard’s guide rails, use a cutter to cut a slit of the same width in the carpet. To affix the tracks, select a hook-and-loop carpet laying tape with extra-strong adhesive (4), and, if necessary, lay two strips side by side.

Press the guide rail and the carpeting firmly onto the carpet laying tape from both sides (5).
