Two things that go well together

A plain white sideboard creates order and looks good in any room. And this flexible piece of furniture can also be transformed: add a cuddly cushion or two and you have a bench. Here, two compartments of the sideboard have been given a home-made covering with papered MDF board which matches the wallpaper. Read about how it’s done over the page.

The trick: hook and loop tape

To enable the covering boards to be inserted and removed at will, they’re attached to the sideboard with tesa® VELCRO® Hook & Loop Stick On Tape. Fix the fleecy side of the tape to the back of the board, and the hooked part to the sideboard.

The lightcoloured cushions perfectly match the wallpaper.

Matching cuddly cushions

To complete the stripey look in the living room, lightcoloured cushions match the wallpaper perfectly and can be sewn together in no time – and instead of a zip, they can be closed with practical tesa® VELCRO® Hook & Loop Iron On Tape (also available to sew on).

The back attracts with smooth edges.

A beautiful back…

…can also attract! To cover the sideboard compartments, cut MDF to size – a centimetre larger than the compartments. Then apply wallpaper paste to the board and paper it to match the wall. Don’t forget to paper round and over the edges for a good finish.
