The tesa plant in Sparta, Michigan, has been in operation since 1982. The plant produces adhesive tapes for industrial applications such as mounting, packaging, and logistics, as well as special solutions for the automotive and paper and print industries.

Tapes made in Sparta are being sold into worldwide markets. The facility also houses tesa’s only cast film extruder which provides greater flexibility in meeting customer demands and in developing new market leading products.

The tesa plant in Sparta has approximately 55 employees, plus 10 at the North American Distribution Center. Many of these have been with the company almost from the start. The high performance work culture stresses lean manufacturing practices along with flexible work assignments. The production site is certified under the environmental standard ISO 14001 and has met the quality standards set out in ISO/TS 16949 and ISO 9001:2000.

Participation in the community was highlighted in 2005 by a mural painted on the south side of its building which boarders the high school’s football field.
