The tesa Plant Singapore was officiated as tesa tape Asia Pacific Singapore in January 1999. Prior to this, it started in 1976 as Singapore Plastic Product, a joint venture between Singapore Government and a Taiwanese company specialized in the production of PVC films. In 1982, another Taiwanese company took over the business and began producing PVC adhesive tapes. In 1995, Beiersdorf acquired 50% of the company shares and finally in 1999 the other 50%. tesa tape Asia Pacific Pte Ltd was formed.
