Where tesafilm® comes from
tesa Werk Offenburg GmbH, abbreviated tWO, was established in 1961 as a fully owned subsidiary of Beiersdorf AG. Since the founding of tesa SE, in 2001, tWO has been a separate company belonging to the tesa group. With a current total of 470 employees, among them 35 trainees completing formal training courses, and annual production quantity of approximately 250 million square meters, the Offenburg plant is tesa SE’s largest production location worldwide.

tesa Plant Offenburg
Seventy percent of the products manufactured in Offenburg go on to be used as industrial products in such sectors as the automotive and electronics industries. The company’s clients for this type of product include Audi, BMW, DaimlerChrysler, Ford, Opel, VW, BASF, Bosch, and Siemens.
The remaining products are intended for private consumers; these include the famous tesafilm®, tesapack®, and tesakrepp®, as well as the useful, multipurpose duct tape line.
One of the site’s main areas of emphasis is environmentally friendly production of adhesive tapes, without the use of solvents. For example, tWO has for several years been using an innovative process developed and patented by tesa that allows it to coat all its masking tapes without solvents.
In total, more than 60 percent of the plant’s entire production yield is now manufactured without the use of solvents.
tesa Werk Offenburg GmbH as an employer
tWO offers a state-of-the-art, innovative working environment, including new models of work organization such as group work and employee-structured scheduling with flextime. The plant’s continuing education and training program includes, among other things, non-technical training the employees can use to obtain additional training beyond their technical qualifications.
Offenburg is also an attractive location in itself: The city of 56,000 is located between Karlsruhe and Freiburg, in the heart of the Ortenau region, which is known for its wines, sunny weather, and cultural attractions.
The surrounding area includes the Black Forest, the Rhine Valley, and Alsace, and the city’s close proximity to the regional hub of Strasbourg offers a great deal of potential for recreation.
