Operating instructions and training help minimize risks
For every hazardous material, operating instructions with respect to working with the material, the field, or the material itself must be prepared. Employees who handle hazardous materials must be trained with respect to the risks involved, as well as the protective measures to be taken, using these operating instructions.
These training sessions must be held at least once per year with reference to the respective workplace. The content and time of these training sessions must be documented (required storage period: two years).
In case of inadvertent release of hazardous materials, adequate ventilation must be ensured. If hazardous materials enter any body of water or wastewater systems, the proper authorities must be informed.
