Environmental protection technologies
The establishment of our ambitious environmental program led to our establishing a consistent new orientation for all our production facilities. Patented technologies developed by tesa ensure that today, completely new, solvent-free coating techniques are used.

Minimum emissions through laborious reclamation and cleaning processes
After the first major system was put in operation at the tesa plant in Offenburg, in 2002, currently about 60 percent of the entire production quantity is manufactured in this process – and with improved product quality, to boot.
In addition, our innovative acrylate system set a new trend: This successful technology project makes it possible to coat non-woven fabric backings for cable ties without using solvents.
While it is true that it will not be possible to eliminate solvents from every step of the process of manufacturing technical adhesive tapes anytime in the near future, emissions can be avoided as far as possible even when traditional technologies are used.
For an example of what this might look like in practice, we need only look to the tesa plant in Hamburg, where laborious reclamation and cleaning processes make re-using solvents possible, thereby ensuring that emissions can be kept to an absolute minimum. This is also shown by the figures the company discloses regularly in the context of its official emissions declarations.
