Behind the new tesa® Powerbutton range of hooks, which initially comprises 11 hook varieties in chrome and stainless steel, lies the simple and convincing nie wieder bohren. technology, which makes it possible to attach heavy objects of up to 12 kilos in weight to solid surfaces using a secure adhesive method. In this way, tesa can offer trade partners in the DIY segment an attractive sanitary module with a complete, high-quality range including Powerstrips® hooks, tesa Powerstrips® waterproof and the new, super-adhesive tesa® Powerbutton hooks. Appealing POS tools support the comprehensive marketing of the self-adhesive attachment systems with which tesa is making consumers’ lives that bit easier.

The collaboration in end-user business strengthens both companies in different ways. Frank Braun, Chairman and co-owner of nie wieder bohren ag, which was founded five years ago, explains his motivation: “We are well established in the market for bathroom accessories. With hooks, however, we still saw considerable growth potential. That’s why we are now joining forces with tesa, whose brand and distribution power will give the market additional impetus and help to shift the general trend further away from drilling and towards innovative adhesive solutions. Of course we also hope to gain new momentum for the nie wieder bohren. brand too, which will benefit from the trust consumers have in tesa.” With a recognition rate of 98 percent, tesa® is one of the strongest brands in Germany. As a renowned brand partner for the market, the company boasts a well-connected sales and logistics network in Europe. Achim Franck, Director of International Marketing and Product Development in the Consumer division at tesa, explains: “In the German consumer business, tesa Powerstrips® and a comprehensive range of hooks make us the market leader. Thanks to the innovative technology of nie wieder bohren. we are able to complete our portfolio in the bathroom segment and will be able to offer a full range in future. The particularly advanced adhesive capacity of the tesa® Powerbutton and the top quality of the hooks in terms of appearance and materials ideally suit our solutions based on the proven Powerstrips® technology and will bring out additional aspects within our range.”

Back in 1994 tesa invented a “nail” that sticks. With the super-strong tesa Powerstrips® and the hooks that accompany them, objects of up to two kilograms in weight can be conveniently fixed without the aid of tools, screws or nails, and can also be removed again without leaving a trace. With this range, tesa has become the market leader in Germany. In July 2011 the company added a watertight variant to the market for use in wet areas. nie wieder bohren ag pursued a similar idea with its patented adhesive technology, which can reliably bear even very heavy loads, but can likewise be cleanly removed without leaving behind irritating holes in tiles or natural stone. This is ensured by means of an adapter made from metal, which serves to link the adhesive with the object to be secured. This is first brought into the correct position with the aid of a ring of adhesive tape and then filled with a one-component adhesive. The breathable, highly stable adapter ensures optimal hardening of the adhesive. Thanks to all-over sealing, optimal adhesion is also guaranteed on uneven surfaces. Twelve hours later, the actual hooks can be mounted with the greatest of ease.

Hanau-based nie wieder bohren ag, founded in 2005, reserves all rights to the internationally patented nie wieder bohren. attachment technology that bears its name and that has been proven in millions of applications. The product spectrum currently comprises around 20 ranges of drill-hole-free, high-quality bathroom accessories, exclusive doorstops and a comprehensive kitchen rail section. In addition the company boasts small collaborations with manufacturers of shower panels, shower walls, attachment systems and other related applications. In 2010 nie wieder bohren ag achieved Europe-wide turnover of around 7 million euros.
