The new tesa ISO SYSTEM
® creates a reliable airtight layer with just three components: a vapor barrier film, an adhesive tape, and a cartridge glue. The product range is compatible with all standard commercially available types of insulation material, ensures lasting heat insulation, and is easy to use in just a few simple steps.
The core piece: the airtight layer
The key to the concept is tesa
® ISOFIX 1, a vapor barrier film that is applied over the insulation wool to create an airtight layer. It ensures that heated indoor air and cold outdoor air are kept separate within the insulated roof construction. tesa
® ISOFIX 1 creates an airtight seal between the installed insulation materials and the interior side of the roof, thereby preventing heat loss and moisture damage due to mold and mildew formation.
After the insulation materials are put in place, the film is stapled to the rafters. The special thing about it is that tesa
® ISOFIX 1 is a water vapor-permeable, moisture-controlling material with a fleece coating. This vapor barrier thus enables reverse diffusion of moisture existing within the structure of the building, while at the same time preventing the buildup of condensation moisture in the area of the insulated wooden structures during the winter. This permanently prevents long-term moisture buildup.
Easy handling
In places where the vapor barrier film overlaps or is interrupted by features such as pipes or chimney vents, and when it comes to covering the staples, tesa ISOFIX
® 2 adhesive tape is used. Using its adhesive tape expertise as a basis, tesa now offers just one adhesive tape instead of the usual two tapes. And it definitely does the job: The flexible adhesive tape can be used both for straight-line adhesion and with pipes. That means significantly easier handling. Plus, there’s no additional tape for the customer to buy, and there is as little scrap as possible.
The tesa ISO SYSTEM
® for roof insulation is finished off by tesa
® ISOFIX 3, a cartridge glue that securely affixes the film to the masonry.
Full support
The fact that the system relies on just a few components, along with the superior quality of the tesa ISO SYSTEM
®, make it possible for do-it-yourselfers to achieve high-quality, long-lasting interior roof insulation in just a few steps. Users aiming for home improvements are supported during the process with an extensive advising service from tesa before, during, and after the purchase of the tesa ISO SYSTEM
®. The full service offered to do-it-yourselfers includes, for example, informational brochures, a phone hotline, and an online portal with information including a movie clip on how to use the products and a material calculator. Thus tesa provides advising on all aspects of roof insulation, leaving no question unanswered.
