Numerous international studies of body care agree: Men like things smooth – and their female partners do, too. That’s why the average man spends about 3,000 hours, or 140 days, over his lifetime shaving his beard, exposing his sensitive skin to razorblades. But that’s nothing in comparison to the average amount of time Europeans spend in their cars: about 17,500 hours, or around two years. That means there are a lot of opportunities for men – and women – to suffer scratches when driving. To keep things running smoothly during parking maneuvers, and to keep your car’s paint from wearing off too quickly, tesa is launching a new product range as of April 1, 2011, focusing on various products to protect a vehicle’s paint job.

Transparent, ultra-thin, and easy to use
At just under 0.4 millimeters, the self-adhesive tesa Anti Scratch films are ultra-thin and practically invisible, plus they come in four different sizes: to protect doors and exterior mirrors (15 x 2 cm), front and rear bumpers (24 x 5 cm) and as small or large adhesive films for universal use, for instance underneath door locks or trunks (15 x 10 cm and 120 x 9.5 cm). These high-quality protective films can be applied quickly and without bubbles, even by laypeople; they are resistant to UV and extreme temperatures, and to both chemicals – such as those used at car washes – and high-pressure cleaners, and they do not turn yellow over time. If the film itself is scratched at some point, it can be removed and replaced with a new piece. Effective protection for high-risk areas of your car’s paint job costs no more than a single car wash: The suggested retail price for a set of two pieces of tesa Anti Scratch film (front & back) that can be used for any vehicle type and color is just € 10.95.

tesa Anti Shock products are foam bumpers that adhere extremely well to both smooth and rough surfaces – and even to round pillars inside parking garages. Their red-and-white stripes make them highly visible even in diffuse light. These bumpers help prevent damage to a vehicle’s paint, for instance when opening the car door. A strip of tesa Anti Shock Flexible with dimensions of 40 x 30 cm retails for about € 11,75€.

Handy helpers for affixing items and repairs
In addition, tesa has launched a number of high-performance hook-and-loop tapes for affixing various items in the vehicle’s interior. Special adhesive pads are available to bond items such as cell phone cradles to the dashboard. The new tesa automotive product range also encompasses various repair products, including transparent and colored adhesive tapes and a special tape made out of aluminum that withstands temperatures of up to 140 degrees Celsius.
