“Green” wins out

tesa makes it easy for consumers to protect the environment and is expanding its ecoLogo® range by two further products in 2012. The handy tesa® Easy Cut Desk Dispenser is the latest product to come with a housing made from 100% recycled plastic. But that’s not all: in future, the housings of the disposable rollers for corrections, permanent or non-permanent adhesion will also consist of recycled material.

“Green“ in tried and tested quality
The tesa ecoLogo®, which was introduced in 2010, identifies environmentally friendly and solvent-free products that primarily consist of recycled material and renewable raw materials. The tesa research and development department spent many years on testing and developing in order to find the perfect combination of environmental protection and the high tesa quality standards. All tesa ecoLogo® products stick reliably and are easy to use. Consumers can recognize the environmentally friendly solutions not only by the specially created logo, but also the striking green packaging. Easily comprehensible symbols indicate the exact ecological product benefit.

“Green” from the core to the casing
In times of climate change and dwindling resources, the ecoLogo® range is tesa’s response to society’s increasing environmental awareness. After the first tesa ecoLogo® products such as the refillable tesa® Glue and Correction Rollers, tesa® Stick and Easy Stick, tesapack® paper, and a tesa® Easy Cut Hand Dispenser, the “green” product range was initially expanded by two proven bestsellers in 2011: tesafilm® eco & clear and tesapack® eco & strong. Beyond using recycled material for backing films, roller cores, or cardboard packaging, tesa’s latest portfolio expansion focused on the product housings. The company’s close cooperation with suppliers led to success: Extensively reprocessed scrap material is turned into housings for desk dispensers, correction or glue rollers, which can thus be produced whilst saving resources.

A “green” pioneer with tradition
The systematic introduction of sustainable products is the result of a long-term strategy: for many years, tesa has been setting itself ambitious and binding goals in order to save energy, waste, and carbon dioxide. In addition, the development of environmentally friendly production technologies is an integral component of tesa’s research activities. Today, various patented processes ensure that the majority of tesa products – including tesafilm® – is manufactured without any solvents. For the pioneering role tesa is playing through its long-standing sustainability measures and the environmentally friendly concept of the tesa ecoLogo®, the industrial association PBS Industrieverband e. V. has awarded the company the “Sustainability Prize 2011”.
