Fachpack 2007 - Three new tesa® solutions for handle reinforcement
Firmer hold, greater efficiency, more possibilities for box packaging
Efficient, flexible, and yet sophisticated solutions to reinforce the handles of cardboard packages are gaining importance in the corrugated cardboard industry: Even when a box is under high strain, it has to be able to be carried securely. At the same time, handle reinforcements must not negatively affect the design and must be easy to manage during the production process. Requirements which tesa’s product range easily meets – with tailor-made solutions for all packaging and types of handles. New in our range: the highly tear-resistant tesa® High Load, the versatile tesa® 50060 Flexible and tesa® 50100 Cut Stop, which protects from further tearing after damage.

tesa tape range for grip reinforcement in cartons: More security, higher efficiency, more options for carton packaging.
The ultra-strong tesa® High Load 50050 is especially designed for high demands and heavy box loads. It has been tenselized and is able to resist tear forces of up to 440 N/cm without any trouble.
The new tesa® 50060 Flexible is the efficient, versatile solution for all standard applications. It has an especially flexible PET filament backing, making it break and tear proof.
tesa® Cut Stop 50100 is particularly secure when it comes to any further tearing after damage, based on its special, length-wise-slit backing. Despite its thinness, it is also able to withstand greater tear forces. It is thus the premium adhesive tape perfectly suited for almost all applications requiring handle reinforcement – whether for top hole handles, side hole handles or flap handles.
The three new reinforcement adhesive tapes are the optimum addition to the existing tesa® assortment for handle reinforcement: tesa® 50090 Classic, which is especially suited for side grips, and tesa® 50020 Basic – the appropriate solution for all standard demands.
tesa’s solutions offer several advantages at once, both for processing and for the end consumer. For example, the tapes are not visible from the outside of the packaging, because they are processed exclusively on the interior side. In addition, because they provide reinforcement only where it is really needed, lower-strength cardboard can be used without there being any negative effect on the stability of the packaging. Thus by using tesa® grip reinforcement, the costs for cardboard material can be reduced by up to 25% - at the same time, allowing your load weight to be doubled.
This opens up practically unlimited possibilities for new designs and printing.
Working closely with leading machine manufacturers, tesa also offers complete system solutions for processing as well as advising and technical support in the implementation of individual packaging solutions.
