The new tesa® Fly Screen protection systems against insects

Anyone preferring to sleep with the window open, loving the scent of spring air in the living room or seeking a cooling breeze at the desk on hot summer days knows the problem: it is not fresh air alone that enters through open windows but very often also flies, mosquitoes or other annoying insects use the opportunity. By way of the three new fly screen products tesa now offers even more effective and good looking protection against the unwanted flying and crawling visitors.

tesa® Fly Screen Lamella Door

The new tesa® Fly Screen Lamella Door Comfort can be opened and closed effortlessly with one hand. The unique pulley technology makes the product into a one-of-a-kind system in the market place at this time. The lamella door is available in two colours: in colour
anthracite it is virtually invisible, in white colour it effectively screens from outside and inside views. By means of the proven tesa Powerstrips® technology the Lamella Door Comfort can be mounted securely and reliably in any common door frame without drilling of holes – whether on the balcony, the terrace or in the winter garden. And when the insect season has come to an end it can be removed again without leaving any traces. It can be adjusted individually to the respective door width and is available in the standard dimension of 0.95 m x 2.20 m as well as in the special size of 1.20 m x 2.50 m for particularly wide and high doors. The tesa® Fly Screen Lamella Door Comfort is mainly available from building supplies stores, DIY stores as well as department stores.

The recommended retail price amounts to roughly € 39.95 for the shorter version and to around € 49.95 for the taller version.

By way of the tesa® Fly Screen Alu Door Comfort tesa offers an improved premium version of the fly screen door. An integrated longitudinal cross-tie adds additional stability to the new aluminium door. The fly screen fabric can be fitted particularly simple by means of the tesa own click system. The new aluminium door is available in brown and white colour in the size of 1.0 m x 2.20 m. It can be individually adjusted and thanks to the flat and rigid profile it can also be mounted to most terrace doors with shutter system.
The recommended retail price amounts to roughly € 74.95.

The tesa® Fly Screen Premium assortment is complemented by the new tesa® Fly Screens Alu Standard. These offer an inexpensive introduction to the aluminium plug frame systems. The tesa® Fly Screen Alu Standard assortment consists of one door in the dimension of 1.0 m x 2.20 m and three windows – 0.8 m x 1.0 m, 1.0 m x 1.20 m and 1.20 m x 1.50 m. The recommended retail prices amount to around € 59.95 for the door and between € 29.95 and € 44.95 for the windows. All products are available with white or brown coloured aluminium profiles.
In addition to the new products there now is an insect protection screen range in roll form as well – either made of fibre glass or of aluminium in two dimensions respectively: 1.0 m x 1.20 m and
1.20 m x 2.50 m.

According to A. C. Nielsen the business sector of insect protection continues to offer strong growth potential in building supplies as well as DIY stores. It grows particularly in the segment of high quality protection systems, with aluminium plug frame systems increasingly being in demand. With a growth rate of +78 % and overall sales of nearly 8.3 million € during the first half of 2005 they formed the largest product segment in the insect protection sector. With an increase in sales by 19.6 % during the same time period the lamella door systems as well proved their popularity. Based on sales tesa is market leader in this segment with 39.7 % market share.
